I Am The World Trade Center - The Tight Connection
On their second full-length, the duo of Dan Geller and Amy Dykes retain their unfortunate moniker while staking out electronic pop territory mined by Saint Etienne, Ladytron, The Aluminum Group, Dubstar, and the more accessible side of Stereolab. Itís a synth-pop sound that ought to be the stuff of many a huge hit, but has not even come close stateside. "Believe In Me" is one of 2002ís finest and brightest manic pop moments, "Dancing Alone" is a one-song swankfest, and nearly every track here is a winner, including the way-cool covers of The Stone Roses ("Shoot You Down") and Blondie ("Call Me"). A whole lot of fun, and one of the best records of the year.
YEAH YEAH YEAH, 2002
