The Silos - Heater
A solid alt-country band that fell through the cracks in the late ’80s and early ’90s, before the genre had its current cachet, Walter Salas-Humara and his rotating cast of musicians are still admirably at it. Though far from the lofty heights of Cuba and their eponymous 1990 record on RCA—which is every bit as good as The Jayhawks’ Tomorrow The Green Grass—their latest, Heater, has endearing moments like "Thanks A Million" which come close. A dud or two aside, this is worthy and fun, and it’s nicely produced.
YEAH YEAH YEAH, 1999
